It&#8217;s a great mercy from Allah to be a Muslim. We are blessed with a lot of things in Islam. Among the blessed things bestowed on us is the day of Arafah. SubhanAllah, there are many virtues of the Day of Arafah we are going to discuss today, and the significance of the Day of Arafah is unmatched.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"518\" data-end=\"722\">The Day of Arafah falls every year on the 9th day of the Islamic month of Dhul-Hijjah, the final month of the Hijri calendar,\u00a0just a day before <a href=\"https:\/\/deenminder.com\/blog\/a-concise-guide-about-eid-al-adha\/\">Eid al-Adha<\/a>. On this day, pilgrims gather at the plain of Arafat,\u00a0engaged in dua, dhikr, tears, and repentance with pure devotion.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"518\" data-end=\"722\">On this day, millions of pilgrims, clothed in simple white garments, stand shoulder to shoulder on the plain of Arafah under the burning sun. Their heads are bowed, their hearts trembling, and their tongues moist with dhikr and dua, and above them, Allah is boasting about them to the angels, saying:<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1051\" data-end=\"1118\">\n<p data-start=\"1053\" data-end=\"1118\"><strong>&#8220;Look at My servants. They have come to Me dusty and disheveled. Bear witness, O My angels, that I have forgiven them.&#8221; (Ahmad; authenticated by al-Albani)<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"1053\" data-end=\"1118\">Imagine this, that&#8217;s how they will earn Allah&#8217;s forgiveness. Can you see one of the virtues of the day of Arafah? The significance of the day of Arafah isn&#8217;t just for those performing Hajj, but also for those not performing Hajj too.\u00a0 It\u2019s a day to draw closer to Allah by fasting. If Allah is that generous to those on the plain of Arafah, do you really think He\u2019ll turn away His slaves who fast and make dua on this day?<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"770\" data-end=\"1105\">Whether you\u2019re standing on the plains of Arafah in Ihram, raising your hands in humble supplication, or sitting in your living room a thousand miles away, you will benefit from the rewardable virtues of the Day of Arafah. You\u2019re not left out at all. Let&#8217;s talk about the significance of the day of Arafah now.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\" data-start=\"3160\" data-end=\"3218\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_significant_virtues_of_the_Day_of_Arafah_for_all_believers\"><\/span><strong data-start=\"3164\" data-end=\"3218\">The significant virtues of the Day of Arafah for all believers<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"3220\" data-end=\"3377\">The significance of the Day of Arafah cannot be underrated, and there are many virtues of the Day of Arafah we are going to discuss today, which are as follows&#8230;<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"61\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"1_It_is_the_day_Allah_perfected_our_religion\"><\/span><strong data-start=\"3\" data-end=\"61\">1. It is the day Allah perfected our religion<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>This, indeed, is the biggest favor from Allah to this Ummah, for He has completed their religion for them, and they, thus, do not need any other religion or any other Prophet except Muhammad. (Ibn Kathir). And what a moment it was. In a single declaration, Allah wrapped up centuries of divine revelation He has been sending down, countless prophetic missions, and the final seal of guidance for humanity. What a great day this is!<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"568\" data-end=\"862\">This is among the significant virtues of the Day of Arafah, a day when the religion of Islam was declared complete, whole, and preserved for all time. On this day, our Prophet \ufdfa stood before an ocean of believers at Mount Arafah. The sun was high, and the day was intense, and he was giving the farewell lecture.\u00a0 Ibn Kathir \u0631\u062d\u0645\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647, in his Tafsir, explained:<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1239\" data-end=\"1347\">\n<p data-start=\"1241\" data-end=\"1347\"><strong>\u201cThis noble verse was revealed on a Friday, the Day of Arafah, and both are days of Eid for this Ummah.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"1349\" data-end=\"1504\">The significance of the day of Arafah was also recognized by the jews as one of them once told Umar ibn Al-Khattab \u0631\u0636\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647:<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1677\" data-end=\"1803\">\n<p data-start=\"1679\" data-end=\"1803\"><strong>You recite a verse which, if it had been revealed in relation to us, we would have taken that day as the day of rejoicing. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1679\" data-end=\"1803\"><strong>Thereupon &#8216;Umar said: I know where it was revealed and on the day when it was revealed and where Allah&#8217;s Messenger (\ufdfa) had been at that time when it was revealed. It was revealed on the day of &#8216;Arafa (ninth of Dhu&#8217;l Hijjah) and Allah&#8217;s Messenger (\ufdfa) had been staying in &#8216;Arafat.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1679\" data-end=\"1803\"><strong>(Sahih Muslim, 3017 a)<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"2003\" data-end=\"2266\">Think about that. For the Jew to recognize the significance of the Day of Arafah, what about we Muslims? We should know that this day is really a great day. On this verse, scholars were able to deduce that there is no chance for innovation in Islam again, and everything has been perfected.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2727\" data-end=\"2766\">Imam Ibn Taymiyyah \u0631\u062d\u0645\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 said:<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"2768\" data-end=\"2984\">\n<p data-start=\"2770\" data-end=\"2984\"><strong>\u201cThere is no need for anyone to add to this religion after its completion. Everything that brings a person nearer to Allah has been clarified. Innovation is not from the religion, because Allah has perfected it.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3 data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"46\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_The_day_that_Allah_swears_by\"><\/span><strong data-start=\"3\" data-end=\"46\">2. The day that Allah swears by<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"48\" data-end=\"296\">Among the most powerful indications of the significance of the Day of Arafah is that Allah swore by it in the Qur\u2019an. When Allah swears by something, it&#8217;s something big to Allah, as explained by scholars. In the Qur&#8217;an, when Allah takes an oath by something, He is declaring it significant beyond human comprehension. Allah says..<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"298\" data-end=\"445\">\n<p data-start=\"300\" data-end=\"445\"><strong>\u201cBy the sky containing constellations, and [by] the promised Day. And [by] the witness and what is witnessed.\u201d\u00a0 (Surah Al-Burooj 85:1\u20133)<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"447\" data-end=\"619\">According to many classical scholars of Tafsir, including Ibn Kathir and Ibn Abbas (\u0631\u0636\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647), the \u201cwitnessed day\u201d is Yawm al-Arafah, the Day of Arafah. This means the virtues of the Day of Arafah are so great that Allah swears by it and uses it to testify to the truth.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"75\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"3_Fasting_on_the_day_of_Arafah_wipes_out_two_years_of_sins\"><\/span><strong data-start=\"3\" data-end=\"75\">3. Fasting on the day of Arafah wipes out two years of sins<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"77\" data-end=\"133\">One day. Just by performing one simple act in it and you earn two years of sins forgiven. Yes, that\u2019s the mercy and generosity of Allah, and this is one of the unmatched virtues of the Day of Arafah. Prophet Muhammad \ufdfa said&#8230;<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"77\" data-end=\"133\"><a href=\"https:\/\/deenminder.com\/blog\/significant-virtues-of-the-day-of-arafah\/blue-and-gold-elegant-umrah-special-package-instagram-post\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2128\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2128 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/deenminder.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Blue-and-Gold-Elegant-Umrah-Special-Package-Instagram-Post.png\" alt=\"virtues of the day of Arafah, significance of the day of Arafah\" width=\"1200\" height=\"900\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/deenminder.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Blue-and-Gold-Elegant-Umrah-Special-Package-Instagram-Post.png 1200w, https:\/\/deenminder.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Blue-and-Gold-Elegant-Umrah-Special-Package-Instagram-Post-300x225.png 300w, https:\/\/deenminder.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Blue-and-Gold-Elegant-Umrah-Special-Package-Instagram-Post-1024x768.png 1024w, https:\/\/deenminder.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Blue-and-Gold-Elegant-Umrah-Special-Package-Instagram-Post-768x576.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"368\" data-end=\"503\">\n<p data-start=\"370\" data-end=\"503\"><strong>\u201cFasting the day of Arafah, I hope, will expiate the sins of the year before it and the year after it.\u201d (Sahih Muslim <a href=\"https:\/\/deenminder.com\/blog\/hadith-on-fasting-on-the-day-of-arafah\/\">1162<\/a>)<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"505\" data-end=\"633\">And nothing brings you closer to the mercy of Allah than fasting on Arafah with sincerity, gratitude, and longing for Allah&#8217;s forgiveness and mercy.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"695\" data-end=\"1006\">This reward is specifically for those who are not performing the Hajj. Pilgrims on Arafah are not to fast, as the Prophet \ufdfa did not fast on this day during Hajj, and scholars explain that the pilgrims need full strength to engage in standing at Arafat, supplicating, and fulfilling the rites of Hajj.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"73\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4_A_day_of_massive_forgiveness_and_freedom_from_the_fire\"><\/span><strong data-start=\"3\" data-end=\"73\">4. A day of massive forgiveness and freedom from the fire<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<blockquote data-start=\"75\" data-end=\"195\">\n<p data-start=\"77\" data-end=\"195\"><strong>\u201cThere is no day on which Allah frees more people from the Fire than the Day of Arafah.\u201d (Sahih Muslim 1348)<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"628\" data-end=\"799\">The above hadith makes it undeniably clear that the significance of the day of Arafah cannot be underestimated. This is the day when Allah frees more people from Hell than any other. Not the night of Laylatul Qadr, or Ramadan, but on the day of Arafah. That\u2019s the significance of the Day of Arafah. It\u2019s a great day of divine mercy and pardon. A moment where Allah\u2019s mercy overshadows His wrath.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"41\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4_The_day_Allah_boasts_of_the_pilgrims_to_the_Angels\"><\/span><strong data-start=\"3\" data-end=\"41\">4.
