Every day, we are engaged in a lot of activities, some leading us closer to Allah, and others pulling us away. In moments like these, the heart becomes the battlefield and that is where the dua for guidance becomes the believer\u2019s lifeline.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1012\" data-end=\"1394\">SubhanAllah, even our Prophet \ufdfa, the most guided of all mankind, would often raise his hands and supplicate for guidance and steadfastness. He, who received direct revelation, feared that his heart could turn if Allah did not keep it firm. This should humble every one of us. If the Messenger of Allah \ufdfa himself needed Allah\u2019s help to stay firm, how much more do we need it?<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1396\" data-end=\"1544\">In one of the most authentic narrations, the Prophet \ufdfa used to make a heartfelt dua that captures the essence of a believer\u2019s dependency on Allah:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"1548\" data-end=\"1702\"><strong>\u201cO Turner of hearts, make my heart firm upon Your religion.\u201d<\/strong><br data-start=\"1675\" data-end=\"1678\" \/><strong>\u2014 (Tirmidhi, 2140)<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"1704\" data-end=\"2041\">This short, powerful Islamic dua for guidance is a reminder that the heart is not a stable entity. It signifies that our emotions, convictions, and intentions can shift, and without Allah\u2019s mercy, none of us can remain steadfast and guided.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1704\" data-end=\"2041\">As Muslims, we need to understand that guidance is from Allah. That&#8217;s why we need to say the recommended dua for guidance in Islam. We got to know this from the narration of our mother, Umm Salamah \u00a0(may Allah be pleased with her), when Shahr bin Hawshab asked her, \u2018O Mother of the Believers! Verily, there is no human being except that his heart is between Two Fingers of the Fingers of Allah, so whomsoever He wills He makes steadfast, and whomever He wills He causes to deviate.\u2019\u201d (Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3522)<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\">My dear brothers and sisters, if you have ever felt lost, confused, not yet practising some of the things commanded by Allah or His Prophet (\ufdfa), or struggling to stay firm on the straight path, know that you are not alone. This is a human experience, and Allah, in His infinite wisdom, has already provided us with the ultimate cure.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\">The most authentic and powerful dua for guidance is not a hidden secret. It doesn\u2019t matter how much knowledge you have, how strong your faith seems, or how many years you\u2019ve been praying. The heart is fragile, and faith is a gift that must be protected with constant supplication.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"454\" data-end=\"806\">Human beings are forgetful by nature. One day, our hearts overflow with sincerity, and the next, they are distracted by the glitter of the dunya. We are exposed to whispers, temptations, and trials that can make even the strongest believer tremble. That is why we must never feel secure from misguidance. Our Prophet \ufdfa, the most guided of all mankind\u00a0 constantly sought Allah\u2019s help to remain firm. The heart is like a leaf blown by the wind unless Allah holds it firm. That is why the Prophet \ufdfa, despite being chosen, purified, and divinely guided, would frequently say:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"1633\" data-end=\"1762\"><strong>\u201cO Turner of hearts, make my heart firm upon Your religion.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"1764\" data-end=\"1972\">SubhanAllah, If the Messenger of Allah \ufdfa himself could fear this for his heart, then what about us living in an age of endless distractions, fitnah, and moral confusion? This is why we need to increase in saying\u00a0the dua for guidance and steadfastnes.
