Every time they step out of the house, fall sick, or face life’s uncertainties, your heart trembles with worry. But Alhamdulillah, we are not left alone. Islam has given us the most powerful tools through adhkar and dua for children’s protection from harm from cradle to adult.

If there’s anything more precious than wealth, it is our children. Yet in Islam, children are an Amanah, a trust from Allah. A trust so weighty that it will be asked about on the Day of Judgment. Our Prophet ﷺ said..
Indeed, every one of you is a shepherd, and every one of you is responsible for his flock…
(Sahih al-Bukhari 893; Sahih Muslim 1829)

Dua to protect your children from harm in Arabic:
أُعِيذُكُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّةِ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ وَهَامَّةٍ، وَمِنْ كُلِّ عَيْنٍ لَامَّةٍDua to protect your children from harm in Transliteration:
Uʿīdhukā bi-kalimātillāhi al-tāmmati min kulli shayṭānin wa hāmmah, wa min kulli ʿaynin lāmmahDua to protect your children from harm in English:
I seek protection for you in the Perfect Words of Allah from every devil, every poisonous creature, and from every evil eye that harms.
Note that the above dua is when you are seeking protection for a single child in front of you. If they are two, you will change the “أُعِيذُكُ” to “أُعِيذُكُمَا” (Uʿīdhukumā), and if they are more than two in front of you, you will say “أُعِيذُكُمَ” (Uʿīdhukum)

اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ النَّاسِ، أَذْهِبِ البَأْسَ، اشْفِهِ، وَأَنْتَ الشَّافِي، لاَ شِفَاءَ إِلاَّ شِفَاؤُكَ، شِفَاءً لاَ يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا
Allahumma Rabban-nās, adhhib al-ba’sa, ishfi anta ash-Shāfī, lā shifā’a illā shifā’uk, shifā’an lā yughādiru saqaman
O Allah, Lord of mankind, remove this suffering and heal (them), for You are the Healer. There is no healing but Your healing — a healing that leaves behind no illness.

Ayat al-Kursi (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:255) – The Greatest Verse in the Quran
Allahu la ilaha illa Huwa, Al-Hayyul-Qayyum. La ta’khudhuhu sinatun wa la nawm. Lahu ma fis-samawati wa ma fil-ard. Man dhal-ladhi yashfa’u ‘indahu illa bi-idhnihi? Ya’lamu ma bayna aydihim wa ma khalfahum, wa la yuhituna bi shay’in min ‘ilmihi illa bima sha’a. Wasi’a kursiyyuhus-samawati wal-ard, wa la ya’uduhu hifzuhuma. Wa Huwal-‘Aliyyul-‘Atheem.
Our Prophet said Whoever recites it (Ayat-al-Kursi) before sleeping, a protector from Allah will remain over him, and no shayṭān will come near him until morning. (Sahih al-Bukhari 5010)
Surah Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq and An-Naas
Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Raheem. Qul huwa Allahu ahad. Allahus-samad. Lam yalid wa lam yoolad. Wa lam yakun lahu kufuwan ahad.
Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Raheem. Qul a’udhu bi rabbil-falaq. Min sharri ma khalaq. Wa min sharri ghasiqin idha waqab. Wa min sharrin-naffathati fil-‘uqad. Wa min sharri hasidin idha hasad.
Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Raheem. Qul a’udhu bi rabbin-nas. Malikin-nas. Ilahin-nas. Min sharril-waswasil-khannas. Alladhi yuwaswisu fee sudurin-nas. Minal-jinnati wan-nas.
Aisha رضي الله عنها said that whenever the Prophet (ﷺ) went to bed every night, he used to cup his hands together and blow over it after reciting Surat Al-Ikhlas, Surat Al-Falaq and Surat An-Nas, and then rub his hands over whatever parts of his body he was able to rub, starting with his head, face and front of his body. He used to do that three times. (Sahih al-Bukhari 5017)
All the above verses and surahs are powerful dua for children’s protection from harm recommended by our Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ himself used and recommended them as daily shields and duas for protection from evils that guard the believer morning and night. Additional Islamic practices to protect Children
1. Recite Surah Al-Baqarah at home: This powerful Surah drives away shayṭān. The Prophet ﷺ said:
Do not turn your houses into graves. Verily, shayṭān does not enter the house where Surah al-Baqarah is recited. [Muslim 780]
2. Keep kids indoors during Maghrib: The Prophet ﷺ warned that..
When the sun sets, keep your children indoors for the devils are out at that time. [Bukhari 3280]
3. Teach your children the morning and evening adhkar
Start young. Make morning and evening adhkar part of their bedtime stories, school runs, or breakfast routines. When you teach your child to seek Allah’s protection, you’re giving them armor even when you’re not around.
